Q. How long will it take me to improve my English?
Everyone is different, but data has shown us that with approximately 30 minutes use per day over a 2 week period you will see noticeable improvements in your speech. Continued learning will provide you with maximum results and you can add content to the software to ensure you progress with your English.

Q. How is Eyespeak different?
EyeSpeak provides you with feedback that is meaningful and is broken down to a phoneme level so you can learn the correct sounds of English and correct your English accent.

Q. What English skills will I learn?
EyeSpeak will help you improve your English Accent, Intonation, Speaking and Listening skills, English Vocabulary and Spelling, as well as your Conversational skills.

Q. Do I need special skills to use your software?
No - anyone with a headset and computer (with minimum specifications) can use EyeSpeak and enjoy the software and see the results in their English.


Q. How do I purchase EyeSpeak?
Firstly download the free demonstration from our the website www.extramiletraining.co.nz, then purchase the language pack that you wish to use i.e. Everyday English, Full English Learning Pack. You will then be emailed a Pack License Number to register your software.

Q. I have purchased an EyeSpeak language pack. How do I register it?
Open your current version of EyeSpeak (or demo version) and click on "Tools " Download Language Packs" and enter the 14 digit Pack License Number that has been emailed to you.

Q. Can I use EyeSpeak as an English Teacher?
EyeSpeak can be purchased as a Network version so Teachers can monitor students' progress and store their data. 

Q. Can I install Eyespeak on the computer network of the school or organization?
Yes. EyeSpeak can be purchased as a network version and installed on multiple machines and allow the teacher/administrator to view all users' progress. Ideal for language labs! Please contact eyespeak@extramiletraining.co.nz for more information.

Q. I purchased a language pack but cannot view it?
Make sure you have loaded the matching accent to the original license you have purchased. If you are unsure, go to "Settings " User Management" within Eyespeak and create a user with the same accent as the language pack you have just purchased.

Q. Can I purchase EyeSpeak as a Download and CD-ROM version?
Yes. The majority of our sales are sold as Downloadable versions; however you can purchase a CD-ROM copy. Please just email us with the details of the language pack(s) you want and mailing address and we will invoice you directly.

Q. Is the website secure?
Yes! The Paypal payment site is totally secure and any credit card payment is safe. Please allow up to 12 hours to receive your License Number. All the information you provide to Extra Mile Training is treated confidentially and not used for other purposes than the ones it is supposed to serve. You can access your information by contacting us.


Q. I am having problems making a voice recording?
Please run the "Sound Check Wizard" within Eyespeak to check your microphone settings are set up correctly. Click on "Tools " Sound Check Wizard" and follow the instructions. If you have any issues you will be directed to detailed instructions to correct your settings.

Q. EyeSpeak tells me I am unable to make a recording or records a fault when I speak?
This is one of the most common complaints! Please uncheck the ""Mute" checkbox in the microphone section of Windows Volume Control or turn up the volume of the microphone. Please also verify that your audio equipment is set up properly. For example, check that your microphone and headset are connected properly.

Q. Why are my scores low or I am prompted to repeat what I have said?
Please adjust the distance of the microphone from your mouth and make sure your speaking volume is similar to that of your teacher. If your speech is too low or high or you are recording in a noisy location then your scoring may be effected.

Q. I can see the software working but cannot hear any sounds?
Go to the Volume Control Panel, select "Options " Properties " Playback " OK" and check that none of the Mute buttons are turned on.

Q. Does EyeSpeak require a special microphone?
No. EyeSpeak works with most headsets and if you do find a headset it does not work with please contact us and advise the details.
