Extra Mile Training was established to provide "Training That Works for Working People". We make every effort to create courses that:
- recognise that each individual has different training requirements based on their skill level and experience
- understand that the majority of New Zealanders struggle with new technology but find it hard to admit it
- provide a positive environment where students are comfortable exploring the gaps in their knowledge
- provide training that is affordable, achievable, accessible and relevant to you in the workplace or at home
- encourage lifelong learning
- increase the effective use of technology
Our role is to remove any obstacles that may come between you and your learning goal. Obstacles can include: lack of confidence, time constraints, clear understanding of content, lack of direction or insufficient feedback.
We believe that every student is capable of success, given the appropriate support.
Learn More - Earn More
The best way to improve your job and earning prospects is to equip yourself with recognised skills and qualifications.
One of the hardest things to prove to any employer is your level of computer skills. You may think that you have solid skills but you often don't know what you don't know. The IC3 qualification provides clear proof of your capabilities. By completing the same IC3 tests that are available in 135 countries it provides concrete evidence of your level of expertise. You can even give them a copy of the syllabus if necessary.
Passing the IC3 can also save you a lot of time in your current job. Overseas companies have found that attaining the IC3 can save an employee valuable time that would ordinarily be wasted trying to work out a computer query or asking other work colleagues for help.
Both online via the web or CD-ROM based versions of the IC3 courseware and certification programme gives you the flexibility to learn where ever or when ever you like.
Once you have built a firm foundation for your computer knowledge you can move on to the more advanced levels.
Tutor Led Training
For intermediate or advanced levels of computer training we recommend our customised tutorials. Work with our tutors to identify the areas that you need to cover and they will build your training to match. These are ideal if you have a particular area that is causing you difficulty or you want to learn new skills. We can even use your own documents and data as part of the training. Because you are learning exactly what you need you be able to apply it straight away which increase your confidence and reinforces the value of lifelong learning.
If you prefer to cover a set course syllabus we can provide these as well.
Technology changes all the time and you need to keep up to date if you want to get ahead.
